The Master Logistics Management (MLO) is offered within the Department of Economics in Bernburg.
Students who study the Master Logistics Management will study one year at their local university and the second year at Anhalt University in Germany. The programme in Germany will be entirely in English language.
A German master’s degree will improve job opportunities for students, especially applying in German companies located all over the world. About the programme
The target of the master's programme Logistics Management is a science-based and practical oriented qualification of students to prepare them for specialist and leadership functions in the field of international logistics. On the one hand, students receive a theoretical and methodical foundation and on the other hand a lot of insights into practice. One of the main concepts that students learn during their master studies is system theory and system thinking. It is the pre-condition to evaluate highly complex situations and the pros and cons of it. Students will learn in discussion to look at problems from different perspectives and to make conclusions. During studies, students will be trained in their way of thinking and behaviours to handle highly complex situations.
The Degree issued is a Master of Science. With the Master of Science in Logistics Management, the students are offered a broad range of opportunities:
- Designing international logistic systems
- Logistic planning and functional departments
- Management roles and strategy departments
- Companies in air traffic industry
- “classical” business consulting
- in-house consulting of industry companies
- ability to do one’s doctorate (at a university)

Programme structure
The Master Logistics Management is structured into 4 semesters (120 Credits). It starts each year in Winter Semester (October). The programme consists of compulsory and electoral compulsory modules.
Compulsory modules are done by the University of Applied Sciences if the partner university has not the capacity or capability to do it.
Compulsory modules:
- Strategic Logistic Management
- International passage air traffic
- Coopetition in Logistics and Air travel
- International freight transport
- Project Scientific Work
- Project Logistics Management
Electoral Compulsory modules must be fixed by the partner university.
Each compulsory module is worth 5 credits.
Categories for electoral modules:
- Business
- Economics
- Economic Law
- Soft Skills/Foreign Languages
In total the partner university has to deliver modules worth 60 credits.
At Anhalt university students do modules worth 30 modules and write their Master Thesis and hold their colloquium. Master Thesis and Colloquium sum up to 30 credits.

To allow the practical orientation of students, the MLO develops close contacts with international reputed enterprises in the field of air traffic and air freight as well as field days in these and other companies to get a deep practical industry insight.
