German universities face an increasing number of international applications. Although this is a very positive trend and increases the international reputation of these institutions, it challenges them in their administrative processes in terms of organisational handling and student support when students arrive in Germany. To obtain the German resident permit is a comprehensive procedure. Whether and when students are receiving their residence permit is hard to predict and makes planning of definite student numbers often difficult. Furthermore is the individual support challenging the already limited capacities of universities.
We are supporting universities in all these non-academic affairs and create relief in workload through personal contact and support of students before, during and when ending their studies in Germany.
DCG is exclusively concentrating on programme students, thus students participating in a joint cooperation programme between the German and foreign university. Through this we can bundle all activities and can handle all administrative task for the entry to Germany at once. For example are we doing the so-called APS group procedure in China for the application of a visa for study purposes. This is saving time and resources. Additionally is the numbers of students participating in our programmes reliable and universities can plan required capacities for their study programmes well ahead.

Foreign universities are trying to sharpen their international profile similarly to German universities. With the support of foreign universities, they seek to provide their students the possibility to obtain a Degree abroad or a Double Degree. Through this, they can contribute to increase the chances in the local and international job market for their own graduates and enable them a well-equipped start into a professional career. Especially German degrees are attractive as German employers – global players as well as the medium-sized companies - are seeking professionals worldwide. A foreign university that offers innovative programs that also offer a faster entry into the job market is also increasing its reputation in the local market.
