City of Dessau
Dessau is considered one of the centers of the German Age of Enlightenment in the 18th century. The city has many facets and offers much to discover. Today, the city has about 81,200 inhabitants and is best known for the UNESCO World Heritage Sites Bauhaus and Dessau-Wörlitzer Gartenreich. It is surrounded by the unspoiled nature of the UNESCO Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve.
Dessau is the third largest city in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt and guarantees excellent economic location conditions due to its immediate proximity to the major cities of Berlin, Leipzig, Halle and Magdeburg, its favorable transport connections (freeway, federal highways, railroads, transport airfield, river ports) as well as its infrastructure and its subsidy policy.
