Together with Awa e.V. in Altenburg, we coordinated and implemented the so-called Top-Up Project in Ghana in 2024 and 2025. The aim of this project was to place graduates in mechanical and electrical engineering from Accra Technical University in local companies and businesses in central Germany, thereby meeting the demand for skilled workers and supporting the integration of foreign skilled workers. In order to match the abilities of the skilled workers with the needs of the companies, we organized a German language course in Ghana and all participants were trained in Germany at AWA e.V. in a qualification course according to German quality standards (Chamber of Commerce and Industry) before they were available to the German labor market.  

We also provided support with visa applications and the IHK Fosa recognition procedure.

With the insights gained from this project, we would like to implement an optimized and adapted project with AWA e.V. in the future and include a broader range of countries like Vietnam and the Philippines.
