About the programme
We seek to create ethical and effective professionals with the capability and confidence to acquire management positions as well as to develop all the indispensable skills in order to progress to a genuine leadership role. Our graduates become innovative professionals in the highly competitive global market of the future.
As a general management programme with specialization in International Trade, the MBA is good preparation for any job that requires general management competence in International Trade sector. The programme is of particular interest to people working in, or planning to work in finance, consultancy, manufacturing and service industries. Increasingly, some use our MBA programme to help them establish their own business or return to help run a family business.
Programme requirements
Please note, in Germany the MBA International Trade course is taught entirely in English, German language is NOT required, however German language courses will be offered.
There is no particular preference to what undergraduate degree subject should students have. We welcome applications from arts, languages and philosophy graduates as well as those from the pure sciences, engineering, math and the social sciences, including business and economics.

In the MBA International Trade you study related to the program with the university partner 3-4 semesters.
The programme consists of core and optional modules. Each module is worth 5 credits.

Graduates of the Master of International Trade programme will be awarded the academic title Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.

→ Corporate Project Management Partnership with Aronia Original
(Summer Semester 2017- Module: Corporate Project Management)
Aronia Original is a Germany-based market leader in the production and sale of premium organic Aronia Berries and related products. Aronia berries are considered a “superfood” due to their significant positive health effects. Aronia Orginal’s product range includes dried berries, juices, jams, energy bars and many more.
MBA International Trade students conducted market entry- and feasibility studies to explore potential overseas markets in direct coordination with the Aronia management. In order to get acquainted with the company and its products MBA students visited the headquarters in Dresden and the plantation in Coswig.

As a continuation of the fruitful and beneficial cooperation between Aronia Original and the MBA International Trade, students from the previous semester presented their project work to the current generation of students, thus giving them an overview of Project Management and its results.
At the same time the management of Aronia sponsored the “Aronia Award” for the three best market feasibility concepts of the previous semester including a money prize. The Aronia management was thankful for the students’ valuable input and market analyses, while MBA students appreciated the opportunity to practically apply their theoretical knowledge.

German Mittelstand “Hidden Champion”
MBA International Trade students conducted a feasibility-analysis of business opportunities in different countries for the construction-material supplier from Nienburg in order to identify promising future markets.
International workshops
→ International Management Workshop in Paris
(Summer Semester 2016)
In May 2016 MBA International Trade students participated in the International Management Workshop in Paris, France. Focus was the ongoing economic crisis and tensions within the European Union. Students had the chance to experience a mutual insight into the French and German perspective. The workshop included corporate visits to the Axa European insurance, the CEB- the Council of European Development Bank and the Denton’s legal firm where they discussed cross-border merger and acquisitions in Europe.
→ Cracow Research Workshop
(Winter Semester 2016)
At the beginning of December 2016 MBA students participated in a project week together with students from the Cracow University of Economics, Poland. Focus of the week was a research project with relation to the topic of “Planned Obsolescence”. This project was made possible through a close cooperation with Dr. Halina Lyszczarz from Cracow University of Economics (who is also a guest lecturer at the MBA in Bernburg.) Students were given a 48 hour research task and had to prepare a survey and presentation within a limited period of time. Furthermore, the excursion included a visit to a Polish news channel and some sightseeing in the Old Town of Cracow.
→ Accounting Workshop London
On a regular basis (~once a year in April) MBA International Trade students have the opportunity to participate in the International Accounting Workshop in London as part of the module “Accounting and Financial Analysis“.
The workshop includes visits to relevant institutions and companies in the financial hub of London, including: BDO- an accounting and business advisory firm, the IASB- the International Accounting Standards Board and the Bank of England. Students enjoy the practical insights into the different accounting institutions paired with the vibrant flair of London as a metropolitan city.
